Dun-Rite Roofing improperly installed a roof that will cost $75,000 to replace:
Dun-Rite Roofing improperly installed a new roof on our building in 2011 resulting in $75,000 of anticipated repairs, more than $10,000 of interior damage and countless hours labor to protect our contents from additional damage. Dun-Rite won't respond despite an official letter our condominium association sent him. We have a report from a licensed professional structural engineer that states, among other things, "the dormer areas near the front entrance indicates an area of the roof deck was not completely covered with ice and water shield”, “the ice guard was not properly draped down in behind the gutter several inches”, and “The ice guard stops short several inches and therefore does not properly block ice and water from entering the building at the eves. Dun Rite made serious errors (in) their installation. We have the manufacturer’s instructions and based on our observations, the observations of our professional engineer, and the observations of an independent roofing contractor, Dun -Rite didn't install the ice guard in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. Additionally, Dun-Rite was not registered with the City of Solon, did not obtain a Solon building permit as required by the City of Solon and the contract Dun Rite signed for the job.
