Taking a cue from the band that inspired their name, the Eatsie Boys are breaking from convention in opening their new Montrose eatery — the brick-and-mortar iteration of their ultra-popular, eponymous food truck. Even while juggling the mobile business, a new restaurant and, eventually, a brewery, the guys have brought their signature quirk and quality in an ultra-casual atmosphere with truck favorites like pork belly snuggies and new hits like matzah ball pho. An added bonus? Pastries from La Guadalupana and homemade ice cream in Houston-inspired flavors from Shipley's to Vietnamese coffee.
These guys make ice cream like it's nobody's business! On many days if you hit them up late at night you will probably find them sold out of your favorite flavors. What's our favorite of all the unusual flavors they offer- Shipley's Donut. There are pieces of Shipley's donut blended into the ice cream to get this fantastic creation. Can you say...yummy creamy goodness.
Seriously, this place is totally rad. The brainchild of three partners who started out with a food truck, feast on inspired dishes by chef Matt Marcus, including his famous matzah ball pho, or a stellar frank the pretzel. End the meal with a whimsical ice cream flavor, like the Glazed and Confused. And maybe, bump into a chef while you're at it. Montrose at its best.
Outstanding delectable fast food comes out of this kitchen, which displays the passion & playfulness that the Eatsie Boys have for food.
