Overpriced and extremely poor Customer Service.:
Ed Pawlack do have a great selection of tiles, but over priced. After 4 visits to their store, I have to say their customer support, feedback, and turnaround times are VERY LACKING. The tiles I ordered did not come in on time and I had to reschedule my tile setting person. They got the tiles in the next day, claiming my purchase order slipped through the cracks. Pete was the sales person and Ed is the owner, both pretty much shrugged off responsibility and say "this just happens and they have no control over this." I was appalled at the lack of responsibility and customer satisfaction commitment on their part, especially from the owner. On another occassion when I had to return tiles purchased from them, they charge a hefty 30% restock fee (within 30 days of purchase) and they could not provide feedback as to the return status 7 days later (again I had tile setter in and had to give them a decision).
On both occassions they provided absolutely no proactive feedback (when they said they would call to give me status updates). I had to call them and they didn't know what was going on with my orders until they checked.
I will never shop hear again nor advise anybody to do so, unless you do not care about customer support when something goes wrong. These guys plainly do not care about customer service, are very defensive when you approach them about their lack of service, and are just plain idiots when it comes to running a business.
Frankly, I am surprised they stayed in business this long. In chatting with the owner on my first visit, he mentioned sales have really slowed down since the economic downturn, but I think it may have to do with their lack of care and concern for the customer, rather than more to the economy.
