Egyptian Theatre

The historic Egyptian Theatre opened in 1929 and is the largest auditorium in DeKalb County seating 1,400. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Theatre features live events, concerts, community events, films, and special events. The Theatre is owned and operated by the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization Preservation of Egyptian Theatre, Inc.

The Egyptian Theatre is a 1929, fully restored, Egyptian Art Deco movie palace, operated and staffed by the volunteer family, P.E.T. Inc. (Preservation of the Egyptian Theatre). A National Landmark, the Egyptian is home to 20+ local performing arts groups and shows movies (the art, independent and foreign films).
