El Rincon Criollo

El Rincon Griollo (The Creole Corner) is located on Sepulveda Boulevard, just south of Culver. It is found in a long strip center on the west side of the street at the corner of Barman. It sits right next to a model train shop. The focus is on Cuban and Spanish cuisine.

A lot of Web reviews compare this place to Versailles. I like Versailles a lot, but this place is a good alternative for slightly cheaper, and without having to deal with crowds and the wack parking situation in front of the Versailles in Venice. The goal of this review is to attract people who go to Versailles to, just one time, stop going to Versailles and check this place out instead of Versailles.

Plus they have Jupina, which is like, the best pineapple soda ever.

All the classics of Cuban cuisine are served at this intimate little eatery. One might begin with an authentic tamal or croquetas de jamón before opting for hearty portions of arroz con pollo, ropa vieja, roasted pork or pargo frito (deep-fried red snapper) served with black beans and plantains.
