When I first went in to Ella Weiss I tried on several dresses and found none that worked out. The seamstress recommended making me a dress since I only had two and a half months until my wedding. I was never given a quote for my dress in writing but told that they would stay within my written budget. After waiting for the seamstress to order material she realized it was too late so I had to find my own material. I was told, at that time, that by buying my own material the dress would be cheaper since they weren't supplying it, and would just be charged for the labor. After spending several hundred dollars on material they informed me the week before the wedding that they were now not going to take off for me having to buy all my own material. The seamstress had put everything off for so long that she also told me repeatedly that she was not going to have time to put the detail in the dress that had been initially agreed upon. Since it was not ready to pick up until two hours before I had to leave for the wedding, and left with no other options, I payed them what they wanted. Needless to say, I was very upset during the whole process. After everything was over I decided, that while I knew I couldn't get any money back, I should make a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Shortly afterwards, I received a letter threatening to sue me for making false and defamatory statements. Not only did doing business with Ella Weiss cause much upset and stress for my wedding, but I find it very distasteful that they feel they have to take legal action for me trying to share my experience.
