Tips

There’s a new hole in (the) Wallingford. Eltana is now calling the Prescott complex off Stone Way home. The bagel company, with shops already on Capitol Hill and The Armory, is known for their Montreal-style bagels, which are hand-rolled and boiled in honey water before being baked in a wood-fired oven. No need to worry about getting your bagel fix, as Eltana is open 7 days a week from morning ‘til dusk. If bagels for dinner doesn’t inspire you, try one of their savory dishes, like their Yemenite egg salad, lox plate or the signature Shakshuka—an Israeli pepper, tomato and egg stew.

Montreal style bagels are dense, chewy & delicious. Get yours with interesting spreads like spicy garlic cream. Soups are also good. The only downside is portions are a bit small (lox) and prices a bit high.
