knowingly deliver a service that is not provided:
I hate to give BAD REVIEWS but in this case I believe it to be a WARNING for others seeking quality and reputable service. With this review I hope to provide you with a history of my experience with ENGINEERED WHEEL, located on New York Street in Indianapolis.
.) I called the service manager asked price and time to straighten 2 Acura rims. Was told $125.00 and could possibly have them done in same business day if they were dropped off at 8:00 am.
.) After calling and checking on day 1, day 2, on day 3 I was told they would be done as 12:00 PM.
.) Arrived at 12:30 to find out that one was done and the other was being balanced. When waiting for the second rim I noticed the completed rim was painted a darker color then the original color. After a half hour of waiting the second wheel was rolled out. This wheel was also painted a darker color in addition to having a tear in the fresh paint that was about 1/8 inch wide that went all around the center of the rim.
.) I paid the manager 2/3 of the bill believing the issue was mainly a color selection problem. The manager agreed to repaint the rims.
.) After getting the rims home I looked at the paint job closer. Both rims had large runs, significant orange peal, and lots of overspray.
.) After thinking about the amateur quality of the paint job, I thought it reasonable to take the tire/rims into Discount Tire to check if the rims were indeed straightened. The result was that one of the rims was still bent. I could visually see that the rim was out at least one quarter inch and I don’t check tires for a living. I had this documented by Discount Tire.
.) I contacted the service manager and suggested that I could bring the rim back to have him verify the rim was still bent, and requested that if it was, he refund my money. My thinking was that I did not want to deal with incapable mechanics that knowingly deliver a service that is not provided. After several days of contacting the service manager, with him telling me that he would have to contact the owner to discuss getting a refund he told me to bring in the rim and if it was still bent he was authorized by the owner to refund my money.
.) After arriving at Engineered Wheel, I wanted to make sure the store manager and I were on the same page. In discussing why I was there, the store manager told me that he would give me my money back if the rim was still bent, but he got to keep the rim. I am wondering what kind of drugs he and his crew is on.
.) Bottom line, after 2 weeks and $200.00 I have two rims that have a horrible paint job, not to mention that they are the wrong color, and one bent rim.
