Accused of Falsifying My Frequent Card!:
First, let me say that I pretty much like the hair cuts that I've been getting at this store since they opened a few years ago.
The last time I went in I presented my battered card that got seriously wet from a fishing trip. Beth, one of the cutters nicely transcribed the existing stamps to a new one.
Now here's where it gets weird. I went in on September 25, 2009 and the new owner of the store--who was getting her hair colored in a chair--refused to accept it. Without directly coming out and accusing me of falsifying my card, the implication was there. She told me that my records indicated that I hadn't gotten twelve cuts since April when she bought the place--no kidding! Twelve in five months! I asked her to check back further since I had been a patron for a several years.
I was told she couldn't and also, only the haircuts on cards from Napa since April would be honored.
I will vote with my feet and they have lost a customer.

My Mother's Perm:
I called on Sunday, August 19th, to get the cost of a permanent and the hours of operation for my 88-year old mother.
The cost for a perm was $45, depending on the length. My mother's hair is short so we thought that $45 would be the cost.
Weekdays they opened at 10. My mother arrived early and had to wait until 10:30 before the lady arrived to do the perm.
She did not wash my mother's hair. She sprayed something on it and began the perm process. When it came time to rinse the perm, she did it quickly and took the rods out and was done. She told my mother not to wash her hair for three days that is standard procedure for a perm. My mother had to sign a statement saying that her medication would cause the perm to not take. Then she told my mother that the cost was $60.
My mother called me immediately to complain about the whole process. She was wondering how she was going to be able to sleep because the perm was not rinsed out.
This is the worse permanent my mother has ever had. It is fuzzy on the sides and straight in the back. I really feel sorry for her because she likes to look good and she does not look good now.
She has been taking the same medication for years and also had perms that looked wonderful. The shop, Prissy's Beauty Salon, 1314 Morena Bl closed and my mother needed a new place to get a perm. A good friend, a licensed cosmetologist, recommended this place to me.
