Please be informed about Fava Roofing:
I hired this roofing contractor to Inspect and secure any tiles, I think I paid for that original job $650.00. Then I hired a painting contractor to paint to the outside of the house, and he told me there were problems with the roof, I contacted Frank Fava, and I told him you charged me $650.00 I believe it was and never told me I had a problem, I do not live in this home, so was not apparent to me. I have all those photos of the original inspection and what was going on when he told me all was okay.
So I hired him at a cost of $2000.00 plus all material supplies, as he wanted to use inferior supplies, and those were not acceptable so he went with me and I purchased my own correct supplies. He did this job was completed towards the end of June 2015 as per attached. The roof is now leaking along the back of the house,and interior damage to the home. painter in May, I contacted Mr Fava in May, he never called me back. I had to go to Ireland as my mother had [passed away earlier in the year, and needed to help my dad. Ireland June 14th- 24th. Ill in bed have contacted Mr Fava numerous times, told me too bad outside warranty. Also told me you never paid me to put paper under tiles or told me to do that.
I contacted the California License Board and they say there two other claims filed against him, and I am filing one too, they are sending me the forms.. I have told Mr Fava what I am going to do, I offered to let him come and look at it, while being arguementive and abusive the whole time, he told me outside warranty too bad. I am meeting with another contractor, and I am submitting the painting contract, and shows problem with ceiling where he did the work was from when it rained and well inside his warranty period. I hired another roofing contractor to inspect the problem, following was his statement I have inspected the roof at the above address I found there to be a leak in bay window ceiling on east side of house inback yard area. 1x4 starter board was previously replaced. All the tile underlayment is approximately 1 1/2 " short from the edge of the roof, therefore allowing water to get into the ceiling of room. I will remove first row of tile alongback of house Install a new felt to outside edge of 1x4 trim, all felt to be tucked under existing felt. I will also install new felt in valley area in same place as edge where felt is torn and was not fixed. Install new rakes where others are missing. Re-nail existing rakes that are loose. I will go over whole roof and make sure all tiles are securely in place. All of my repair work comes with a 2 year warranty. I have now had to pay $800.00 to repair Frank Favbas work, please be very careful when you consider hiring this contractor
Finally the roofing contractor without me ever saying who had done this work, knew who had done it, as he gets calls all the time to repair problems with work performed by Mr Favas Company.
