Unreliable:
My experience with Plano Vision and Dr. Fitzhugh has been one of the most frustrating ones I've ever had with a medical professional. On March 30th, I went in for an eye exam and a pair of new glasses. It's now October 12th, or over 6 months later. I now have the right glasses/prescription and think that I have paid, more or less, the right amount.

During that period, I was given 4 different pairs of glasses, 3 of which were either the wrong prescription or the wrong lenses, or both. Although the time between each pair was 4 to 6 weeks, there was no follow up with me (nor the lab, apparently), unless I called Plano Vision to question where my glasses were. In fact, most contacts with Plano Vision required multiple calls to get them to respond to my inquiries.

I was told that these long delays were because Plano Vision was switching labs. Evidentially, they left their previous lab on less than good terms. That previous lab was the one Dr. Fitzhugh was using for my glasses, and the one he stuck with despite the repeated delays and mistakes on the glasses. In one conversation I had with him, he said he would be giving me a discount for the poor service he was providing, but he didn't follow up on that either.

Further, when I received the explanation of benefits from EyeMed, I called them to try to correlate it to the bill I received from Plano Vision. It became clear that the bill was suspect. After raising the issue with Dr. Fitzhugh, he sent me a letter explaining his charges and admitting he overcharged by $51, as well as submitting the EyeMed claim with other errors. Those led to Plano Vision resubmitting the claim -- again after multiple phone requests. Today, October 12th, I finally got a revised explanation from his office, although I'm not sure which to now believe.

The ongoing theme was one of poor service and even poorer follow up. It left me with the feeling that Dr. Fitzhugh either didn't really care about how his business was treating me or was unable to do anything to improve it. Because I had gone to him for my previous pair of glasses and received outstanding service, this situation was all the more puzzling. That said, Plano Vision won't be getting a third chance with me.
