I verbally contracted with 5-star to provide a DJ for a party. I prepaid the total. The DJ was supposed to be there at 5 to set up before the party started at 6. I arrived at the venue at 5, at 5:30 still no DJ. I called and they said the best they can do is send out the equipment if we had someone to run it and we had to provide the music ourselves. Nothing was said about choosing the equipment to rent or a confirmed price. They agreed to credit my card back the difference. The woman who delivered the equipment said that my card had already been credited back and that they apologized. She informed me that the DJ was supposed to pick up equipment from them at 3 and he never showed up. They knew at 3 that he wasn't going to show and yet they did nothing. The equipment didn't get set up and running until after 7. I had 75 guests with no entertainment for an hour. A week later no credit back on my card. I spoke to the owner Sam, he informed me that he would only credit me back $80 because the rental of the equipment was that much. He was very rude, inconsiderate, and arrogant. He just kept saying what a big favor he had done me by bringing out the equipment. I question if he ever had a DJ to send me and just wanted to overcharge me for equipment rental I had to get as a last desperate attempt. As an avid party planner and mother of 4 teenagers who will be getting married soon, I guarantee I will not ever consider this company again. I would urge you all to do the same.
