"The home of American Impressionism," the Florence Griswold Museum in Old Lyme, a conservative summer art colony on the banks of the Lieutenant River; features more than 7,000 works of art. The late Georgian-style mansion is a National Historic Landmark that was designed by Samuel Belcher, architect of the First Congregational Church of Old Lyme; for William Noyes in 1817.
