A grandiose art-deco gem, the Flynn Theatre is the cultural heart of Burlington. In addition to being home to Vermont's largest musical theater company, it also hosts the Vermont Symphony Orchestra as well as big-name acts like Neko Case, Elvis Costello, and the like. The adjacent Flynn Space is a coveted spot for more off-beat, experimental performances.
The Flynn Center is the anchor of Burlington's fine-arts scene. Run as a nonprofit and housed in a wonderful Art Deco theater dating from 1930, the organization puts on events ranging from touring Broadway productions to classical, rock, folk, and world-music concerts; dance performances; and even author readings. Call or visit the Flynn website for a schedule.
