Signing this lease was one of the biggest regrets of my life.:
I have had nothing but issues since living here. Signing the lease has been one of my biggest regrets of my life. Let me give you a laundry list of the problems I've had:
1. When we first moved in, the young girl downstairs moved in her new boyfriend of 2 weeks. Constant parties day and night with anywhere from 10-15 people there. After calling the cops numerous times and even verbally confronting the tenant, he became aggressive and purposefully increased the noise each and every day. It got to the point where at around 6 in the morning, he would pound on his ceiling and scream "Wake up!". It was later found that he was a felon who wasn't on lease. They ended up getting evicted.
2. A new group of tenants just moved in above us. There has to be at least 5 people up there and they stomp and slam stuff around nearly 24 hours a day. It sounds like they are dragging heavy furniture around usually between the hours of midnight and 8 am. They do not answer their door when I've tried to confront them and knocking on the ceiling seems to make them slam and stomp even louder. I literally have not gotten more than a 3 hour run of sleep since they moved in. The leasing manager and the maintenance guy humored me by coming into my apartment and took turns walking throughout the upstairs neighbors apartment, evaluating the noise. They agreed that the noise is excessive, but pretty much shrugged their shoulders and offered me a free carport parking space for my suffering. Are you kidding me? They also gave me the option to break the lease BUT I would be held liable for the remaining balance due on the lease. Um...I could do that on my own. They also said that they could move me to a different unit, BUT I'd have to sign another 1 year agreement. After turning down these stupid excuses for a resolution, they offered to help me move my bed into the living room because there "wasn't as much noise out there". What a joke.
3. A large number of vehicular break ins occurred recently.
4. People speed through the parking lot. And when I say speed, I don't mean 5 over the limit. People hit around 45-50 mph. The lot is extremely narrow, so if you have children, I would worry for their safety. The complex has posted signs on all of the entrances to the buildings about this, but it has done nothing.
5.Parking is a complete nightmare. All of the tenant's cars are supposed to have a parking permit sticker on the front windshield. During the weekends, people don't seem to care and people who don't even live here fill up all available spaces. I've had to park my car on the other end of the complex on numerous occasions. Also, if you have some sort of job, don't plan on getting there on time during the winter. They never plow the snow and I have gotten my car stuck NUMEROUS times. When asked why it isn't plowed, they told me that the plow was broke.
6.For about a 4-5 week span, someone was lighting off heavy duty fireworks in the parking lot in the middle of the night. And I don't mean firecrackers. These were loud enough to hear from at least a mile away and literally lit up the sky. This usually occurred around 3 in the morning.
There have been so many other issues that I don't have time to even go through them. This place is horrible and I am counting down the days until my lease ends. I have never seen such a high concentration of disrespectful people in one place. The area is nice and I don't understand how this area is so bad. I feel sick to my stomach pulling into the parking lot every day after work. This place isn't a home, it's a prison. Avoid this place at all costs.
