Poor service, damaged furniture:
I bought an oak desk, bookcase and hutch. We chose pick it up, as the delivery truck could not reach our house in the mountains - we were explicitly told that if we found any damage when we got the furniture home, they would either replace the piece or give us a discount. We also purchased the warranty for $125, which states that in the case of any damage within the next 5 years, they would replace the piece on a one-time basis.
Upon receiving the furniture, it was damaged, with a loose tabletop and scuffed corner. Oak Express told us they would discount our purchase by a measly $30; we accepted this. However, later that day they told us they would not provide the discount, BECAUSE we had purchased the warranty. Of note, the warranty is only good for ONE exchange. Hence, Oak Express expected us to use the one-time warranty exchange to resolve their problem of selling us damaged merchandise furniture.
I do not recommend doing business with them at all; if you do, DO NOT buy the warranty. Of note, American Furniture Warehouse will handle damaged merchandise in a much more professional manner. Try them.
