Dragged on for months. Never repaired. STAY AWAY:
Ed is a joke. Avoid his services at all cost!

He dragged me along for 3 months and never fixed my couch.

Ashley furniture contracted them to repair my couch under warranty and it has been a horrible experience.
My couch broke at the end of April and after it was turned over to the "local repair dealer" I wait two weeks to hear from him.
After I described the problem he told me that he will order the parts.

6 weeks!! later the parts arrived at my door and it took another MONTH for Ed to get back to me to schedule an appointment.
And by schedule he just gave me the ONLY date and time available. Wednesday between 11-4. I cannot wait around for months for some shop to play with my time.

It's been three months since we contracted him and still nothing.

His response when you call was basically "oh well".

Avoid at all cost.

Need Fantastic Leather Furniture Repair? Call ED, and no one else!:
Need Fantastic Leather Furniture Repair? Call ED, and no one else! - cody - Today
I was having so much trouble finding anyone to return my calls to have a leather LazyBoy recliner repaired. I had a horrid experience with another company (which I will describe later in this review). I called LazyBoy's Stainsafe 1(800) number. They gave me 2 numbers for leather repair techs. The first had no answer, but the second had a cell phone number with the message. It was for Ed, the owner and principle of Furniture Tech Services (408) 453-9172. He agreed to stop by within the hour. Ed walked in, took a look at the tear, and said "I can take the plate off, take it back to the shop, recover it with leather, and have it back in 4 business days - $125." I thought "SOLD to AMERICA!" and had to keep from kissing his feet! He flipped the chair over, got out his electric drill, found that the chair had the old "star" screws, went to his truck to find a star-screwdriver, came in and took it off - all in less than 10 minutes. THAT is customer service, efficiency, can-do attitude, and honesty. As Ed was walking out the door, he took a call on his cell. I could hear another person desperately seeking recliner repair service. Ed calmly talked to him as he walked to his truck. I'm looking forward to seeing him come back and install the recovered kickplate next week! As for my horrible experience, it was with California Furniture Repair (Pleasanton), which is one of 2 Bay Area LazyBoy furniture repair resources. Don't rely on the "Dave the leather technician" for any help. The office customer service agents are pleasant and it seems like you might actually get some work done. They scheduled the appointment and forwarded the information to Dave, the "leather technician." Dave called the night before and listened to the scope of the job - repair a small tear under a 4 inch strip of duct tape (our temporary repair). He said "I don't think I can do it." He was unpleasant and disagreeable, but finally said he would call before arriving the next day. The next day, he finally showed up and was an unpleasant, surly presence in our home. We had taken off the duct tape and he said it would take all kinds of solvents to take off the residue (never heard of GooBeGone or something of that ilk????) and then he wasn't even sure if he could patch the tear. We suggested recovering the section (it was the kickplate of the recliner). He said he couldn't do it and stomped out of our place! I was in shock.I called a number of other repair numbers and left messages, but no answer. I called California Furniture Repair back and talked with the office personnel. They are aware that Dave is a problem, but he's related to another tech. Seems like they don't listen to customer complaints there. So buyer beware! Call Ed instead!
