Description

A native of the scenic Italian coastal town of Bagheria, Executive Chef Gaetano Di Benedetto started as an apprentice in Palermo back in 1978. He went on to graduate from culinary school and has held the Executive Chef title since 1989.Gaetano served in Sicily as chef at the prestigious Villa Paino, where he created state dinners for Italian Presidents Francesco Cossiga and Oscar Luigi Scalfaro. Gaetano brought his outstanding kitchen abilities to restaurants in Milan, Paris and London before joining Disney’s first Italian restaurant in the U.S.Throughout his career Chef Gaetano has accumulated a devoted customer following at his popular Italian restaurants Gaetano’s Forest Park and La Piazza. He has also lent his abilities to good causes, and in 2010 Gaetano was named to the Chef’s for Humanity, an organization of culinary artists from around the world who help fight hunger.
