Every school should be like this:
Both my children were privileged to be involved in the Governor's school in Norfolk. Their lives have been enhanced immeasurably by the experience. By creating a demanding, yet encouraging, supportive, enthusiastic environment; confidence, self esteem, and individual talent and abilities are pushed to a point beyond what would be possible without GSA and the people involved. Learning to work as part of a team is not only an incredibly important life skill, a skill specifically sought by employers, it also creates life-long friendships. Young people who experience GSA have a great advantage over other potential freshmen who haven't had the GSA type preparation. Acceptance into the most prestigious universities, with scholarship awards, seems to be the norm. This seems especially true once a GSA graduate has gone to that school, a door is opened to welcome others to follow. The administration and instructors are supremely qualified and dedicated to helping our kids be the very best they can be, and to be happy doing it! And, they are succeeding. Bravo GSA!!
