Patrick, Dan and the rest of the GV crew have been maintaining my condominium complex since I started managing it almost 5 years ago.
They are reliable and very educated when it comes to lawn maintenance. Not only do I always get what I PAY for but I also get things I do not pay for.
Whenever they are on site they respectfully answer all residents inquiries and always check in with me to make sure there is nothing else I need before they leave.
They also handle my winter snow and I have nothing but high praise in that regard as well.
They make me aware of issues, soon to be issues and also recommend solutions.
I would recommend Green Valley to any business or individual.
They always work until the job is finished, weather or no weather and never leave a mess when they're finished.
I like their work so much I had them travel to my home in Florham Park to do my personal home as well.

I have to say I'm baffled by the previous review. We have been using Green Valley for several years now and have been completely satisfied. Pat and his crew do an awesome job on our property, which is about an acre of land and we use them all winter long for services as well. They have always been very polite and willing to work with us on any special requests or projects. We even had them build us a beautiful walkway in our backyard. If there has ever been an issue all we had to do was give Pat a call and it was corrected quickly. We had used one company before switching to Green Valley and would not think of using anyone else. Unlike the previous review, I find that if you actually pay the bill for the services you received and treat the business owner with the same respect he treats you with, you will be much happier with the outcome ;). I work in Verona and have seen a lot of other companies around and often hear things about different companies but have only heard good things about Green Valley, even from other landscapers! I recommend Green Valley to everyone I know who is looking. To sum it up, Green Valley is easily one of the best if not the best landscape company in the Essex County area. They have a great crew of friendly guys who do a great job. If you have an issue just ask and it will be corrected. That goes for all their services.
Very Unsatisfactory:
I called my local nursery, which I regularly do business with, to have my front lawn completely sodded and mulched. They said they didn't do sodding and I asked if they could give me a name of a business that did. They gave me Green Valley Landscaping in Verona. Green Valley gave me a price and agreed to have the work done in time for an open house I was having. My home had just been put on the market and I wanted it to look it's best for the open house. I also agreed to have Green Valley do weekly lawn maintenance for me.
The weather report for that week was fair except for heavy rain beginning the day before my open house. Assuming they wouldn't be able to complete the job in heavy rain, I called Green Valley that week to advise them of the forecast and make sure that the job would be finished before my open house. He assured me it would be done on time. When the days went by and no landscaper came, I called again and Patrick, the owner or man in charge, was abrupt with me. He and his crew showed up the day before my open house in the pouring rain. Patrick had an attitude the whole day and was very rude to me. My husband had to intercede and ask him not to talk to me in that manner. The job was completed that day.
When it came time to mow the grass, Patrick never showed up and did not return any of my phone calls. It became apparent that the sod he used was substandard and made up of different grass varieties that grew in different colors, size and textures. I have had nothing but problems with this grass and have reseeded and resodded patches numerous times since then. It's still a mess and grows at different rates and different colors. It probably would have been less expensive and less of a headache to have had the whole lawn sodded again.
I wrote out the check to Green Valley but chose not to send it because Patrick refused to return my calls or show up to maintain my lawn. Two years later, with no further communication, he has taken me to small claims court.
Patrick at Green Valley was extremely unprofessional and his materials were bad quality. He handled this entire situation poorly.
Green Valley should probably stick to what they apparently do best--snow removal!
