This is a response to Dr. Bell:
Usually, if a client pays a provider in FULL before all the services for which payment has been made in FULL are completed, and then the client changes his mind and wants to go elsewhere, the unused portion of the balance is refunded. That is what is usually done. The provider does not keep the the entire sum and the add insult to injury by billing the insurance company on top of all that. That is the beef your client is having and from my stand point is a very legitimate beef.
You owe his money back and apologies.
Oh and the credit card company? Of course you showed the company the signed credit card slip and so at the time the signature was made, the client accepted to pay the charges--and that was sufficient for the credit card company. That does not mean that you can keep the money even though you have not finished the job.
