Tips

On The Menu:
A trip to McNally's isn't complete without trying the bar's signature sandwich, the Schmitter. A glorified cheesesteak, the Schmitter revs up the classic with grilled salami, tomatoes and "special sauce" all piled into a kaiser roll. Sounds odd; tastes great.

Know Before You Go:
Thankfully there's one distinctly un-British feature: No smoking allowed.

Editorial Reviews

Established in 1921, this family-friendly, smoke-free Chestnut Hill pub is best known for its signature sandwich called the Schmitter (a jacked-up cheesesteak), but it also features solid draft options and "passable prices"; locals like to bring "out-of-town friends", but it's "easy to meet new people" here too.

You'll find cold beer and a warm welcome--not to mention a very strange sandwich--at this unpretentious neighborhood pub.:
In Short
Don't bother looking for a sign; there isn't one. You either know where McNally's is--wedged between an optician and Hill Tavern--or you don't. Not knowing would be a shame,...

Established in 1921, alongside the trolley turn on the highest hill in Philadelphia, as McNally's Quick Lunch. Rose McNally provided a warm & hospitable respite to PRT trolley operators including her husband Hugh. Today you'll find their great-granddaughters, Anne & Meg, just across the tracks, offering the same fresh food and generous hospitality in the same building Rose purchased in 1927.
