The state's oldest winery opened its doors in 1975 and is a founding member of the Connecticut Wine Trail. You can stop in for complimentary tastings and winery tours. Seasonal events include barrel tastings in April and a harvest festival in September.

HBV owns and leases over twenty acres for its winery and vineyards. The vineyard grows vinifera and hybrids including Chardonnay, Chardonelle, Marechal Foch, Dechaunoc, Marquette, and Seyval Blanc. Its current growing capacity has the ability to produce yields upwards of thirty-five tons annually.
