Consider anywhere else!:
In the last few years, since the inception (and misdirection) of a new head manager and management company, the overall sense of community has significantly dropped to near zero. A series of petty regimented management policies, all with the good intention of overall "improvement", has caused a significant degree of dissension among many long-term and new residents, many of whom have since either moved out or plan to do so in the near future. The sincere hope among many is to find somewhere eventually to live where a renter can feel that his or her every move isn't being watched and calculated.

While [some] valid issues on site are taken care of, many of those most common to many residents seem too often to go on unresolved. Some of those issues include: Possessing an amenity key for resident areas, even though many of these doors have double locks negating being given an amenity key to use during more convenient hours; "Issues" being brought to resident's attention (by management) without ANY alternative solutions being presented; Losing [most] of the resident clubhouse access, with the exception of the workout facility - that used to be completely open to all residents from morning to late night, is now ONLY open during the 8-hour business day. First the snack and beverage machines were removed, then the clubhouse pool table that everyone seemed to enjoy after hours, losing the pool and hot tub, and ultimately closing off a nice social venue (with mail box) for the benefit of whom? One-by-one all basic (previously common) resident amenities seem to be disappearing with time. How soon into the near future before this site loses its remaining amenities, the workout facility and sauna, leaving no significant amenities for anyone?

Of course the trade off, in my understanding, with the new implementations and screenings in recent years, was to “root out” less desirable and haphazard people to make for a better community. Maybe this has found some success, but at what greater overall cost? I used to be able to rely on most of my neighbors on occasion, now it seems with the higher turnover, I barely have much of any chance to connect with more than a few. Sure it may be a “nicer” place in which to live, and it is also a place that has lost much of its character that attracted so many residents into staying long-term.

I have little doubt that our current management (of the last few years) has good intentions in creating a "proper" and safe place to live. I also have little doubt that our current management possesses, by their own ongoing practices and ineptness, any previous experience or nearly enough qualifications to "properly" run any type of company or property - least of all this one. If we are all to live in an atmosphere of some trust and within a sense of community, it then needs to begin with more reasonable policies and management practices.

A prisoner at Hampton Hills:
I have lived in Hampton Hills for about a year and a half, and I definitely plan on leaving and never looking back. The first lease I signed was a 6 month, and for that period things weren't too bad. However, as soon as I signed the year long lease the way I was treated went to hell!
I am a fairly young resident, therefore I get blamed for anything that goes wrong in my building. One night, when I was not even home, glass was broken and there were some guys talking in the parking lot, both of which I was asked about. The walls are also as thin as paper and, thus, I have gotten complaints for absolutely ridiculous reasons. I got one complaint for walking up my stairs to my apartment too loudly. Yes, you read that right, I got a complaint for walking. I am afraid to have more than 1 friend over past 10 o'clock, even for just a late dinner and a movie, because the walls and floors are so thin, and if we make a tiny little peep, you can bet there will be a notice on the door in the morning.
In another instance, a friend of mine was on leave from the army and staying with me. The manager of the apartments told me that he was not allowed to visit unless he was on the lease. He only was staying with me for a week.
Continuously, there is a disgusting ant problem! If you leave fresh fruit on your counter you can bet that within a few days you will have an ant and fly infestation. I have also found a mouse trapped in my garbage can under the sink.
My appliances are also less than satisfactory. My refrigerator is so dry that if i put any bread product in it, it comes out stale. One time, I had grapes in there, and they turned into raisins. My oven has extremely sparatic temperatures, and I never really know how long to cook things, as it varies from time to time. My shower also decides to change temperature and pressure at will. I often feel as though I am showering in a warm rain.
The management is extremely unhelpful and rude. If there is a problem, instead of trying to figure things out with you, she will assume the worst. I work until late, and often times do not get home until after midnight. She confronted me about this, implying that me getting home after quiet time was unacceptable. I don't know about you, but as an independent person, paying for the place I live, I think I deserve the right to come home whenever I desire.
So unless you enjoy being a prisoner in your own home, and not allowed to have any guests other than the bugs and rodents that share your space, do NOT live at Hampton Hills.
