Since most subways lead to Manhattan, meeting up with friends from various Brooklyn neighborhoods usually means a trip to the city. But with so many trains passing near Hank's, it's a great gathering place.

The best dive bar in downtown Brooklyn, with a bathroom that will do as much damage to your brain as the drinks will. A pool table is in-bounds when a concert isn't in the offing, and a smattering of arcade games lay generally dormant, ignored by the clientele who would rather play games of rounds.

What's a dazzling urbanite like you doing in a rustic setting like this? Country music dive with cheap-a@s beers attracts lots of tattooed midnight cowboys. Cooler-than-thous mix with bikers mix with hard-core alkies from dusk til yawn. Great for a laugh, and for some serious drinking, too. More longevity than Hank W. himself, supposed to be sold and closed by now, but still hanging in.
