Once rated the best minor league stadium by Baseball America, it is home to the Norfolk Tides minor league baseball team. The ballpark is located in downtown Norfolk on the Elizabeth River, and was opened in 1993. The Tides christened their new home on April 14th of that year with a 2-0 victory over the Ottawa Lynx.
