Aside from family, I now have a boozy reason for traveling to the South side. Horse Thief Hollow is an awesome (family-owned) pub and brewery that will soon start bottling and distributing their own beer. And if they bottle their bourbon soaked beer, look out. And if dining in, you MUST order their gumbo. To-die-for.

Named for a historic account of local horse thieves, this family-friendly Beverly brewpub serves comforting pub grub like barbecue, flatbreads and charcuterie alongside house brews, Michigan wines and local spirits; repurposed materials (butcher block tables, reclaimed leaded-glass doors) and rustic metalwork decorate the sprawling space, and its casual atmosphere is matched by equally casual...
