Since 1947, we have worked to preserve original historical materials related to Northern California history. Membership now numbers nearly 3,000, making us one of the largest county historical organizations in the country. Membership is open to all.

Humboldt county historical society has a research library that contains archives of documents on local history and genealogy. There are many images. The documents and images date to the early days of Humboldt County from 1850 forwrd.
