I hired Leon with J&L Water Well to replace my well pump. It went out a short time later and I was charged for another pump because he claimed it was my circuit breaker that made it go out. It went out again and he was trying to charge me again even though I had a 10 year warranty both times and I said no I wasn't paying him anymore money. He should have fixed it right the first time. I hired someone else to come and change the second pump he put in which was march of 2013. The time stamp on the pump he said was new was 02/09/09. So ya he sold me an old pump. I did take him to court and I did win my judgement against him and his company so beware. Look him up on Angies list also. F rating and a crook. I also checked with the state and as of this time he isn't even licensed to work on wells.

Don’t call this company. If you do, do not prepay them for work.

My deep well pump failed last fall after 10 years. Leon Hughes of J&L came out to check it. He installed a new high flowing pump even though during testing he noted that it ran out water quickly. He left it in anyway. It failed that night because it ran dry and burned out! He replaced it for free with another high flowing pump but with a flow restrictor. The new pump failed 4 months later. I paid him to install a low flowing pump. He thought the well flow decreased in the last months which led to the failure. He never did a yield test to know what the well could do 4 months ago. With two well pumps in 4 months, I convinced him to warranty the new pump, which he agreed. I checked why the pump might fail after having a working system for 10 years. I found it might relate to my water filter system running 200-300 gallons every night to purge the filters-a lot of water. Leon determined that a 100 gal pressure tank would store enough water for the well to recover and keep it from running out of water while it did the purge. I paid more for a 150 gal tank to hold more water to help the pump. I prepaid close to $3000 for this installation. A couple days later Leon returned with a smaller tank (~84 gallons). When my brother called him on it, he tried to convince us that it was 150 psi capable and that 150 psi was the same as 150 gallons. Since when are pressure and volume the same? I told him I wanted my money back and for him to leave. He hadn’t done any work so he had no value in the job. He agreed that he would get my money back. After two weeks promising to give me my money back but no check, I filed a court case. About a month later, the new pump failed! I called Leon and he said he would be over to replace the pump for free. I waited all day, all weekend and then Monday and he never showed. J&L has held me hostage without water. I had to call another well company to get the water back into my house. I’m filing another court case.

Leon!!! On March the 26th Leon Hughes and Bobby came to my house and did a water heater service replacement.. Leon THOUGHT HE WAS DOING ME A FAVOR WHAT A JOKE.. LEON TOLD ME OVER AND OVER HIS COMPANY HAS BEEN IN BUSINESS FOR 40 YEARS.. "IF" your company has been in business for 40 years then you wouldn't done such a horrible job installing a water heater in our home,, Leon you put our family at RISK WITH A GAS LEAK THAT LEFT OUR DAUGHTER VERY SICK.. I called you within 10 mins that water was spraying all over our basement ceiling and that I could smell gas. I made calls over and over too you to come back to our home and fix the problem, You told us that you bother or step bother was in accident and that you would come to our home the next day.. YOU ARE SUCH A LIAR!!!! YOU HAVE PROMISED US THAT YOU WOULD GIVE OUR MONEY BACK TO US AND COME AND PICK YOU THIS WATER HEATER.. WE had to get another company to get us a new water heater and fix our gas line that you pulled and tugged to get it to connect to the water heater. I TOLD YOU THAT I DID NOT WANT ANY KINKS IN THE GAS LINE AND MUCH SURE THERE WERE NO LEAKS... YOU ARE A JOKE AND THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE.. YOU OWE US OUR MONEY AND I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL WE GET IT BACK TRUST ME!!! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! AND DO NOT!!!! GIVE THEM MONEY IN ADVANCE LIKE WE DID!!! INDIANAPOLIS BEWARE!!!
