"Awesome" fish tacos are the highlight at this "beachy", "casual" canteen in Venice Beach, where the "clever" American menu and "well-mixed cocktails" offer "good value for the money"; it's often quite the "scene", with a "cool" crowd "packed like sardines", but outdoor seating eases the crush, as does a "super-friendly" staff.

James' Beach is a comfy little joint that offers all-American cuisine with a special twist. It is one of the local hot spots, and it can get quite crowded at night, but the atmosphere is intimate all the same. Besides the food, there is an impressive wine list, and you can choose to seat yourself on the patio and take in the salty sea air while you dine. Check the website for dining hours.
