Their reputation speaks for itself. PLEASE READ:
These guys have been in business for almost 10 years now. They have mechanical experience of over 30 years each working on light to heavy duty truck transmissions, differentials and transfer cases. That's all they do. No engines, no bumper to bumper, just specializing in gear work. They fix my trucks all the time and back their work 100%. I've had minimal problems dealing with them over the past 10 years. Occasionally they have a customer, patron, disgruntled nut case wife of a potential employee, post something about them on here. Rest assured they do it all by the book and try to avoid any problems that impede with production of quality remanufactured units. Check out their BBB reviews, their units on Ebay or give them a call. Their a class act. Rick M. Peterbilt Performance.

Extremly Knowledgeable:
I have a ford truck with a zf6 trans behind a 7.3 diesel motor which I bought about 8 months ago.

When I purchased the truck I knew of the transmission and clutch issues, so the truck went directly to my local ford dealer. They replaced the clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot bearing, and a complete hydraulic clutch system.

This money was pretty much thrown in the wind, Still would not shift even after the hydraulic clutch system was replaced 2 more times. They placed the blame primarily on the transmission. Knowing the 3rd and 4th gear synchronizers were bad I shopped for a transmission.

I found Joe's on eBay, I called and talked to Dave. Dave was not only extremely courteous, but the knowledge he possesses is unsurpassable! He had a few ideas on the phone, and I knew it was in my best interest to let them install the transmission. So I scheduled an appointment.

It was a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there. They started at 8am. At 11am Dave called me letting me know the transmission was out of the truck. They found the input shaft was torn up ruining the new pilot bushing, flywheel was glazed, and was an aftermarket flywheel (which is apparently thinner then oem, and you need to use matching clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, or they make a shims for the flywheel). I gave them the go ahead to replace the pilot bushing, turn the flywheel, and shim it. At 3:30 Dave called again, letting me know the transmission was back in the truck and should be ready in about an hour. I asked about a place to eat lunch locally and he referred me to a little place called Kelly's Dinner. In which I had an excellent dinner!

After I finished my dinner I headed back to the shop, where they were putting the finishing touches on my truck. They test drove and I paid my bill and was pulling out about 5pm.

The drive home I thought I bought a new truck, it shifted perfectly up and down. The pedal height was exactly correct!! FINALLY!!

If you are having manual transmission problems, I would highly recommend calling Joe's. Not just for the low price and courteous service. But ask yourself if you would know about shimming the aftermarket flywheel, my local ford dealer didn't !!

THANKS AGAIN TO ALL THE STAFF AT JOE'S
