Overpriced, Horrible Customer Service:
I've been doing business with South Daytona Tractor for 17 years — until now. Other reviews are very correct, these people are all rude and arrogant and act like they don't give a damn about you unless you're buying one of their overpriced pieces of equipment. They obviously have poor leadership and work environment because none of the staff ever crack a smile, and they’ve obviously never heard of the concept of the lifetime value of a customer or reputation management, as you can see from these many terrible reviews. I suspect the few good reviews are mostly shills.

I have had poor service on several occasions but kept coming back because they are the only Stihl dealer within 25 miles of me, but this last visit was the last time. After spending over $15K with them over the years, I brought a brand new Toro ZTR mower in for warranty repair since they are the only authorized Toro repair shop within many miles. My mower had an intermittent valve timing problem. These bozos couldn't fix the problem despite the obvious signs of black soot around the valve cover, etc. Bad enough, but when I came to pick it up, they told me they couldn’t find any problem with the mower and wanted to charge me $110. I told them it was under warranty and that Toro should pay them. They said Toro wouldn’t because they couldn’t find the problem. I told them I’ve been shopping there for 17 years and have spent over $15K there. The service manager acted like he couldn’t care less, and offered to knock $40 off the price. I tried to explain to him that even if he lost an hour of his mechanic’s time in his actual cost, my past and future business have it covered, but his simple mind couldn’t grasp the logic and insisted on charging me. The money is not an issue, it’s the principle. I’ll never darken the doorstep of this place again, and I’ll be sure to warn my local email list of 1,500 people to avoid these a-holes.

These guys are living in the past in a backwards area, thinking they have no competition since they’re the only purveyor of proprietary Stihl and John Deere products (both of which are living on past reputations as well). You can see from the various bad Google reviews that South Daytona Tractor has never tried to respond to or address their many bad reviews. I’ll go out of my way from now on to avoid them and warn others of their sh*tty customer service.
