Tips

Know Before You Go:
The movable ceiling can expand or shrink the auditorium to seat from 1,800 to 3,000 warm bodies. If you've bought the cheap seats for anything other than a symphony performance, be sure to bring binoculars, and good shoes are essential for the trek you'll have to make to the mezzanine seats.

When to Go:
Symphony maestro Christoph Eschenbach occasionally returns as a special guest, so you don't want to miss an opportunity to see him at work. The Houston Broadway Series brings blockbusters like "Rent" and "Chicago" to town.
