Warning! Do not take your tv to kao's:
DO NOT BRING YOUR TV TO KAO's! THEY ACTUALLY TRIED TO STEAL MY TV FOR $25! I brought my tv in to be checked and explained that the power was going on and off frequently. Todd, the owner, had the tv for over a week and told me that there was nothing wrong with it. Picked it up and brought it home and instantly noticed the same problem. Todd and his partner came to my home and immediately saw the problem. He told me it would cost about $250 to fix but that it could be less depending on how much the parts would be. HERES THE SCAM! Todd then offers to give me $25 for the tv and tells me once he fixes it, he will call me and tell me how much it cost and if I want the tv back I just pay him the cost of the repair plus the $25 he gave me. If I don't want to pay the cost of repair, I keep the $25 for the tv.
Two weeks go by and I call Todd and ask him what's going on with my tv. He tells me he hasn't done anything to the tv so I tell him I will pick it up and take it somewhere else. I also told him I would repay him his $25. I ask if I could pick it up the next day and HE TELLS ME IT IS AT A CO-Workers HOME! WTF!
We get into an argument about why my tv is at someone's home and not his shop being repaired! Bottom line, Todd now wants to charge me $50 to pick it up even though he's done nothing to the TV. READ THAT LAST LINE AGAIN! He wants to charge me $25 more for doing nothing!
THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF! Todd and his company is hoping that once he gives you $25 for your tv that will be the end of it. He then uses parts from other TV's he bought from people, fixes the tv (at no cost to him) and then resells it for a profit.
I will definitely be filing a complaint with the City of Garden Grove and the Better Business Bureau to report this scam!
