I went there with my sister who is attending Kaplan now. I don't attend there because I moved. My sister is pretty happy there. We met with Mrs. Parmis and she was very helpful. My sister reminds me if it wasn't for her push she wouldn't be in school right now. Some could say she is pushy but I see it as she is encouraging and she helps people overcome their fears and limitations they set for themselves without knowing it. If they do not understand that, then there is something wrong with them.
She was bubbly, energatic and happy. She really seemed like she loves her job, helping poeple. I know for sure that in state of california a person cannot be under commission for being an advisor so I am sure she was doing her job because she likes doing that. Anyway, my sister is graduating this month. She said she went to Mrs. Parmis to tell her again how much she appriciated helping her boost her confidence to do this. No one has done this before for my sister. Kaplan seems to have been a good choice for her. If it is impacting my sister that much then I think it will be good for every one.

I met with Mrs. Parmis. She was nice. I was supposed to return with my mother and missed a few appointments. She did not give up on me. It was because of her persistancy that I am in school right now. My mother and I really liked her. Financial aide was confusing. We prefered to deal with Mrs. Parmis. I am in school now and if it was not for Mrs. Parmis, I would not be there today. Teachers are ok. some are friendly and some are not. Some pick their favorites in class. I still want to finish and I have more confidence that I will. I generally think this is an ok school. I have no prior experience with another school. I chose this school because Mrs. Parmis was the only school that called me back and genuinely wanted to help me.

Customer Service = Epic Fail.:
I applied to go here, bc the original admission coordinator I had was truly a gem. For unfortunate reasons, she no longer works there. So instead I was taken up by a diff admissions person by the name of Parmis.
Upon first meeting, she was such a chatterbox that I was thinking that is how she must be when first meeting people. Then after a couple of minutes, she seemed so superficial and too hyper. I felt like she was being demeaning and catty without any reason to be!
Everyone seemed so unorganized. I was supposed to call a certain person, and then another person, or this person. Then they tell me I haven't tried to call at all. To make matters worse, Parmis & I argued about me having or having not called! I mean, WHAT? Seriously, why would I lie?! Instead of ARGUING with me, she should have been on my side. She tried to challenge me and said "Do you want me to get so & so on the phone for you?!"
Financial aid was unorganized. I was scheduled for an appointment at 10am one day, and I arrived 10minutes early. I ended up waiting a full hour & 13 minutes because Cathy tells me she FORGOT to put the appointment down in her computer. I come in a different time, and she tells me she forgot to take some forms from me & shouldn't have let me walk out with them. Well, Cathy seemed more gracious to work with than Parmis because at least she apologized and took fault for herself.
Overall, I hated having to communicate with anyone there because of my experience with Parmis. I got a high score on my tests which is the only reason why they are bothering to help me at all... and for Parmis, I know she's probably helping me solely for the commission.
This would only be the school's second year starting the nursing program, yet they treat you like it's the most coveted spot in the world to be accepted. NOT. They have a certificate to begin their Nursing program & as soon as this first class graduates, THEN (so they say) they will be an accredited nursing program. The school's accredited, not the nursing program... yet.
