The Center was founded in 1875 by Bishop H. H. Kavanaugh who had a dream
to carve out a piece of God's creation and maintain it as a place for ministry and
renewal. Times have changed, but we are still carrying out Bishop Kavanaugh's
dream on 55 acres of creation affectionately referred to as "holy ground".
