My family and I rented a home through Keith Hall Properties for right at a year, and in that time I've never been so frustrated or disappointed with a landlord as I was with this company. For starters, they gave us bad keys to the house (meaning that they did not work at all... i.e. didn't go to that house), leaving us with only the garage door openers to get in/out of our home. We wrote emails, called numerous times, and when did we receive functioning keys? Three months before we moved out (again, we lived there A FULL YEAR!), and only AFTER my husband called all irate because one of the two garage door openers (our only means into the house) had died. We also requested new batteries for said garage door opener at that time. Got those a month later after, again, NUMEROUS calls and emails. Furthermore, when we first moved in, NOTHING was clean. The walls had hand prints/grease marks/scuffs all over them, and one room even had staples and pieces of posters STILL STUCK IN THE WALLS. All the nails and screws from the previous tenants were still in the walls, and even the back splash wall over the oven was crusted over with food. We came out of our own pockets to repaint THE ENTIRE HOUSE in the same colors as were already on the walls, just to get it looking presentable. We also had the carpets cleaned before we moved in just to be sure (after all, given the walls, who knew what lurked in the carpet?). When it came time to move out, I cleaned the entire home top to bottom -- scrubbed base boards, toilets, tubs, showers, etc.; swept and mopped; mowed the front and back yards; patched/repainted over all nail/screw holes AND had the carpets professionally cleaned (as requested; presented a receipt upon move out as well). Our deposit was right at $1000. We moved out LAST YEAR and have yet to see a DIME of our deposit back. Even sent a certified letter informing them of our intent to seek legal action if we didn't receive our deposit back within a certain amount of time. That time has since come and passed, and still no word. Lawyers are drafting papers tomorrow. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!!
