Horrible, Unsafe Care. Bring your family member elsewhere!:
My grandmother was a resident here for a few short months. We were promised that their locked dementia unit would keep her safe and that she would receive excellent care here. However, we experienced the exact opposite! She escaped from this locked unit on a cold winter night and was found wandering the streets of Ludlow. The staff did not even know she was gone! So much for the hourly checks. She almost escaped a second time due to a door that left unlocked. In addition she didn't take a shower for days at a time, re wore dirty clothes, was found to have medication in her pockets, a week supply of medication went missing, her locked medication box was found in her room attended and unlocked, staff suggested that we transfer her elsewhere because she was not safe here, she had an inappropriate transfer to the emergency room, staff called us to take her so that they could get a break. In the meantime, they continued to take my family's money and provided sub par care. We were promised our community fee refund ($3500) and never received it. The executive director promised my family a refund and then she denied ever saying that. This place is a hoax and should be ashamed of the level of care that they provide. The staff here are overworked (saw one aid work over 24 hours at one time). The only positive note, is the secretary at the front desk was always friendly, positive, and a joy to speak with.
