Cheap Furniture not sold as such:
We purchased a couch there a little while back, and within a couple of months, the fabric developed really ugly "bubbling" marks on it. It was only on the loveseat side of the sectional, and was clear it was due to defective fabric that was used on that one piece. I assumed that it was only the one piece that was affected.
I called Klopfenstein since the couch was still under warranty, and they sent someone out to look at it -- and charged $50 for someone to come out, which I thought was pretty excessive.
After looking at the couch, and the marks on it, he told me that was normal and was just regular wear and tear. Told me that the fabric on the couch was very poor quality, and that I should expect this to happen with such poor quality fabric. By the way, we paid extra money to upgrade the fabric because we didn't like what the couch normally came with. The salesperson raved about what high quality fabric it was, and then it should last a very long time.
The service guy said that it's normal for the fabric to start deteriorating like that after 2-4 months.
So -- I called the store manager who acted all shocked that this happened, and promised me a call back within 3-4 days. It's been over two weeks now, and I called back today only to find out that he's currently out sick (how convenient).
We did however recieve a new couch coushion by FedEx to replace the one cushion that was slightly affected by this flaw.
The majority of the problem is on the back cushions which of course are not removable.
I'm still waiting to see if the general manager will make good on his word (and the word of the salesperson that this couch will last more than a few months).
