Keep the hernia:
Scheduled for an early morning surgery, with a noon release, my surgery did not actually happen until late in the evening. I spent 10 (+/-) hours on a gurney in a hospital gown, listening to people scream and undergo procedures all around me. When I finally got out of surgery, the friend I had aranged to be there for me at noon was unable to wait 8 hours, so I was told I would have to overnight at the hospital. Completely unacceptable, and I balked. Then Dr. Mueller told me he'd arrange for the hospital to provide a medicar to get me home, and that I would never be billed. Well, I was billed. I took the bill personally to his office and was assured, again, that the bill was "taken care of". Well, 6-months later I find it was still not paid. So now I have a big nasty scar, a big numb patch, and I find this bill still has my name on it. I kind of wish I'd kept the hernia.
