This humble East Village sushi spot is out to save the neighborhood some cash with its affordable rolls and BYOB policy. Locals of all ages converge in the modern, avocado-green dining room over appetizer favorites like steamed shrimp shumai and teriyaki beef-wrapped asparagus. Most of the signature maki, like the Red Dragon--stuffed with shrimp tempura, avocado, masago mayo and eel sauce and topped with strawberries and wasabi mayo--add a dash of creativity to the standard roll fare.

This spot is a weeknight diner's dream. There's a nice, steady hum of conversation, but since a hefty portion of the business comes from delivery orders, it's never jam-packed.
