Dr. Henson with Lakewood Trauma Relief Counseling Center has developed Drug Abuse and Family Counseling Centers throughout the Midwest. He introduced the "family illness" concept in outpatient treatment in the early 1970's, recognizing that "three out of four who where affected from substance abuse didn't have the addiction"; i.e., the spouse and children.
