Awful!!!!:
BEWARE! On 12/5/2013, we contacted Troy Hagar of Lone Star Windows to have him come out and give us an estimate for replacing a broken window. He arrived the morning of 12/6/2013, inspected the window and told us it would be $768.00 to replace. He indicated he would need the money then and would order the window once he had his guy come out and get the exact measurements for it. I signed the work order/contract, we wrote him a check (1092) in the amount of $768.00 (that he cashed) and he took the paperwork with him. I realized after he left that he had not left us a copy of the paperwork but had given us his business card and told us to call him on his mobile #. On 12/12/2013, I sent him a text message to let him know that we hadn't heard from anyone regarding measuring the window. On Thursday 12/12 at 11:09 am, he responded via text "sorry for the delay, have one guy that can do that type of work back up due to the past weather will get it this week he will be calling." I sent him another message via text on 12/19/2013 as we still hadn't been contacted by anyone. We received no response and sent a text message on 12/27/2013 asking when we could expect to hear from someone about the window and asking for our money to be refunded if he couldn't do the work. I called him on 12/30/2013 and he said he "couldn't believe the guy hadn't contacted us or been out here to measure the window." I sent him a text message on 1/2/2014 but received no response. I called him and left a voice mail message on 1/07/2014. I called again on 1/09/2014 and he answered his phone. I explained to him that it had been over a month and we still had a broken window. He said he "couldn't believe the guy (Phillip?) hadn't called us back" and said for me to call him the next morning if I hadn't heard from the other guy that afternoon (of 1/07). We never heard from anyone and I called him on 1/10/2014 and had to leave a voice mail. We never heard from him and attemped to contact him via phone 1/13, 1/14, 1/15, 1/17 and got no response. In addition, I sent him a text message on 1/13/2014 and also called and left a voice mail on the company phone number (972) 596-9542. I also sent a private message through the Lone Star Window Facebook page. I called his cell phone on 1/21/2014 and he answered. When I identified myself and asked him when we could expect to get our money back, he hung up on me. I called back and it went to voicemail at which point I told him we had been more than patient and had tried to amicably work this out but that we had paid him for work that has never been done, no one would return our calls and we would be forced to take further action. I sent a final text after that on 1/21/2014 reiterating the same. Other than the one text we received from him on 12/12/2013, he has not responded to us and we've initiated all other contact. As of 1/21/2014, no work has been done and we never saw him again after 12/6/2013.
So, after having a broken window for almost two months (over the holidays with family staying here and during freezing winter weather and ice) we feel we have no other avenue but to pursue this through other channels. We have recently found someone else (hopefully more reputable than Lone Star Windows and the owner Troy Hagar) to do the work and just want our money back from Lone Star Windows. We believe these are fraudulent business practices and by cashing our check, they entered into a contract and have not done any work or delivered anything in return. What a terrible way to run a business....we were completely ripped off and are going to pursue legal action to recover our money.
