Fresh and Healthy Mexican Food:
Loteria is a powerhouse of tasy and healthy Mexican food. They don't pile on the lard, guac and sour cream. Instead, Loteria cooks in a low-fat and authentic way. Most of the food is a-la carte, so you wind up ordering something basic and select the meat, beans, etc. Definitely get the moles, particularly the chiliquiles with mole rojo or negro--fine for a breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Yummy Mexican food:
This stand at the Farmers Market is minimal. They have an array of savory stewed meats like puerco pibil and chicken mole that you can have served in tacos, burritos and other assemblages. They do not serve Mexican-American style fare with heaping wads of cheese on everything. Their breakfasts are recommended, especially their chilequiles - a platter big enough for two.

Loteria Grill Restaurant Review:
Sandwiched between a crêpe stand and the Beer and Wine Bar, Lotería is winning the hearts and stomachs of regular customers from every race and ethnicity. A tiny red, green and yellow stall at the heart of the Third Street Farmers Market, Loteria serves up Mexican fast food the way it ought to be made. Peering through the glass wall on the stall's south side, you can observe the staff hard at...

"Bright and lively" describes both the scene and the eats at Jimmy Shaw's "colorful" chain of "well-priced" Mexicanos – born as a stand in the Farmers Market – crafting "surprising, delicious" spins on regional specialties; the staff is "friendly" across the board, but only the full-service sit-down branches offer "strong margaritas" and full tequila bars.

Sitting at the colorful counter of this stall in the open-air Los Angeles Farmers Market, you can watch little old ladies make their rounds from butcher to bakery, wooden shopping carts in tow. With its rumpled charm, the Market is a required destination for anyone looking for a taste of historic Hollywood, and Lotería adds a bit of Mexican spice. Handmade tortillas are stuffed with earthy...
