What to Drink: There are a number of boiler maker (beer plus a shot of whiskey) combinations. Our favorite is a pairing of a Rogue pint and Rogue Dead Guy whiskey.

The Extras: Mac McGee’s kid’s menu is a mix of authentic and kid-friendly. Chicken and chips, cheeseburgers and cheddar pasties say hello to Irish cuisine without getting too intimidating.

What makes Mac McGee a standout is the house-made, rib-sticking fare, right down to the coleslaw and the mayonnaise and tartar. We found the Scotch eggs served hot with a mustard crème fraîche playing just a bit too fast and loose with tradition (they're usually served cold cut into quarters with serious mustard).
