Employee review:
Since management has changed this place is immaculate, efficient, friendly, and simply great! The therapists have a wide range of specialties/modalities. Same day appointments are usually available and it's a joy to work here. I have been a massage therapist for over ten years and can say at this place (now) I can provide the best service for my patients possible -I have been here since October 2011. I don't have much control over the music selection so I recommend bringing in your own iPod/player if you are not a fan of generic spa music. Also, if you prefer a particular massage oil/lotion I recommend bringing it in and asking the therapist to use it (please have an ingredient list) if they don't have an aversion. On that note, if you could please limit your use of perfumes and scents I, personally, would appreciate it.
We are working on getting this location approved for insurance reimbursement. It would help if you would call your insurance company and request it as well.
My feeling about franchise massage businesses: They have a place in the market. When managed properly, they provide safe massage experiences for the clientele, a stable work and mentor/protégé relationship to the therapist. They establish standards of value to the new therapist who still can't believe they are getting paid to do this great job.
Caveat: The earning potential is capped pretty low as far as other massage work possibilities and sometimes it feels like you are working for tips.
I am choosing to spend the next five years here as I finish my education first at WSU-V and then (hopefully) at OCOM. This is the only place that I feel safe working 5pm-10pm weeknights. I hope you found this helpful.
