Know Before You Go: Vegetarians can enjoy spinach lasagna, which layers fresh spinach, mushrooms and tomato slices over wavy noodles and three cheeses. There are also Love Veggies, the Deep Eddy burrito, several salads and spinach enchiladas.

When to Go: There's always a line for brunch, but free coffee will keep you awake while you wait.

"No matter what the hour", these "lively" twins in SoCo and Old West Austin turn out "something for everyone", from "healthy, vegetarian items" to good old-fashioned American "home cooking" and hangover-curing breakfasts, all at modest prices; though the digs are barely "a step up from a diner", "wisecracking waitresses" and a veritable "circus" of Austinites add local color.

The Austin City Limits Festival is a sacred time in Austin, a wild rumpus of day drinking, booty shaking, and standing in line for... everything.
