Have you eaten at Mama's Plantation Restaurant in Fort Union?
If you have not DON'T!
If there was a rating lower than ONE STAR, I would have given it. No stars implies I didn't care enough to rate it, so NO STARS is my actual rating.
It is a little "hole in the wall" type of place that just has signs in the window saying RIBS, and CATFISH, you know SOUTHERN FOOD, which I happen to love, and figured it would be a great place as MOST such small eateries tend to be.
We just tried to have lunch there and it was one of the least pleasant dining experiences I have had to date.
We both ordered Fried Chicken Sandwiches, and what we got instead, AFTER A 45 MINUTE WAIT, was three pieces of the greasiest, substandard fried chicken I have ever attempted to eat, sitting on two pieces of bread. (I could have bought some chicken, skinned and deboned it, and fried it up in less time than it took them to ruin chicken with the bones and skin still in and on it. And WILL in the future.)
ONE of the pieces I got tasted like FISH, so I can only assume it was cooked in the catfish fryer instead of the chicken fryer, I couldn't eat it.
My son ate one piece and couldn't stomach any more. The fries were limp dick like I have RARELY seen before. I complained to both the waitress and the cook/manager, and all I got was "sorry".
No offer of less screwed up food. Didn't even feel like the sorry was MEANT.
STILL CHARGED ME FULL PRICE FOR A MEAL WE BARELY TOUCHED. Didn't even offer me the "free" dessert they supposedly offer with purchase of a full meal.
I TOLD them I was going to find MULTIPLE places to publish reviews and bad mouth them to high heaven, and they apparently didn't give a c@!p.
Unless you like overcooked, tough, greasy food that tastes like OTHER greasy food that is NOT compatible, and French fries you could tie in knots, not to mention a complete and total lack of GOOD SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY, then DO NOT EAT THERE.
Stupid people apparently don't understand that keeping the customer happy is the way to success. I will NEVER go there again, and if you care what I think YOU WILL NEVER GO THERE EITHER. These people are a SHAME and DISGRACE to southern values and FOOD.
