disappointment:
A friend had told me about this boutique that she often visits and said decent things about it. I figured since I had a few birthday presents to buy that I would pop in for a bit to see what it was all about.
A mistake on my part, indeed.
I don't like to categorize myself a snobby shopper but I have done fair amount of thrift store shopping in the past and learned to really examine my finds. This, thankfully, filters into my other shopping endeavors where merchandise would be expected to be flawless. Not here.
A lot of the clothes and jewelery were of poor quality not to mention tacky as all hell. I had a hard time considering who in their right mind might buy any of it!
The employees were rude and standoffish. I asked for help and they didn't seem at all pleased to be assisting me. When I asked to speak with the manager, and finally did so as she was busy in the back doing something more important than dealing with what should be her first priority - the customer, she had an audacious attitude. It was almost like they all thought they were better than me. I am not a business owner but to me that seems like the most detrimental thing you could do to your business by acting snide and curt and above all b@!%hy to patrons who just have a question or two.
i daresay I will never go back and my friends will not be hearing about the store in any sort of positive way from me. On the contrary, I will tell them to stay away.
