I visited Merchant's Tire and Auto Center in Sterling, Virginia for a simple oil and filter change. They said that it would take one hour. So towards the end of the hour, they said that I needed a new battery. I said no thanks and paid my bill. Then, when I got in my car to go, the car would not start at all. They said that I needed a new battery. So I go the new battery even though I think they drained it on purpose. When I got home, I looked at my records and my battery was only 3.5 year old and is rated to last 6 years.

The worst was yet to come. The next afternoon while driving home, my car just died on the road. I towed it to Dranesville Auto. They said that the air filter was improperly attached and they fixed it for free!!!

Who knows what Merchant would have tried to get out of me. Who knows if the misplaced airfilter was by mistake or on purpose but it cost my lots of aggravation and some missed appointments.

Shame on Merchant tire. I will never go back. Congratulations to Dranesville Auto for being honest, fair, and skillful.
